No. 25 Florida International Wins Sun Belt Tournament
Cheryl Moody scored 17 points and Cormisha Cotton added 15 to lead No. 25 Florida International to a 66-49 victory over North Texas in the final of the Sun Belt Conference tournament on Tuesday. The victory was Florida International's 12th straight, and earned the Golden Panthers a berth in the NCAA tournament. Moody and Cotton each finished with 11 rebounds, and Mandy Shafer added three 3-pointers for Florida International (26-5), which outrebounded North Texas 47-28. Nicole Thomas and Angel Lewis each scored nine points for North Texas (21-8), which shot 35 percent from the field.
