Penn State Punishes Florida International, 96-79 Kelly Mazzante scored 32 points, breaking a 17-year-old Big Ten single-season scoring record, to lead Penn State to a 96-79 victory Sunday night over Florida International in the second round of the NCAA tournament. With 6:46 left, Mazzante made a 25-foot 3-pointer to give the fourth-seeded Lady Lions (23-11) an 87-69 lead and break the scoring mark set in 1985 by Northwestern's Anucha Browne. The sophomore, a second-team All-American, has scored 857 points this season - two more than Browne's record. |
